Embracing the Drawing of Heaven

Praise the Invisible, praise the Immortal One…

I’ve been loving this song of late (by Daniel Bashta). It’s simple. It’s scriptural. It takes you to another place.

Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.  –1 Timothy 1:16-17

I found mercy. That mercy propels me to His throne.

Throughout this week, that is exactly what I’ve felt. Besides feeling propelled to His throne, I’ve felt the bombarding of the enemy and accusation. Amazing how that works, right?

But then, there’s always a choice. I can feel the tug-of-war. God draws into a greater intensity of worship and knowing Him. The pressures of life push for self-preservation and/or self-gratification.

We lift our hands up higher
We raise our voices louder
To the only wise, Eternal King

There’s a push for higher, louder, greater… Not simply a sentimental emotionality, but because He’s worthy. You feel the rush, the calling. You bring Him your best and behold pure majesty.

The choice seems a simpler now.

I’m thankful for the drawing because I know He has so much more. May each of us choose to move deeper and deeper into the worship He desires to experience.

How about you? Have you felt His drawing lately? What are you thankful for this week?

  1. I’m so thankful for the days we were able to relax at a mountain cabin and enjoy God’s splendid creation. It’s not just a vacation, but a pilgrimage, as I always experience His presence so profoundly when in the mountains. God certainly drew me close to Him!
    Blessings, Jason!
