‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts. –Zechariah 4:6
You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the LORD is with you.” –2 Chronicles 20:17
Yesterday was a big day. It was the first day we’ve got to meet our son. Not through papers and descriptions, not through two-dimensional pictures with washed out colors—live flesh and blood people talking and relating to one another (even through a language barrier).
Our second night in Japan, I was wonderstruck as I realized that if one thing had been out of place or fallen through, everything would have unraveled with this. Everything has worked with military precision. This is great for the generals who understand the deeper nuances of the plan, but it can be a little taxing sometimes for the ones on the ground.
Even still, we would have loved to have everything work according to our timeline, but we’re part of a maneuver that is taking ground from the enemy, establishing the Kingdom of light, and honoring the King. Interruptions and delays happen, but they never catch Him off guard.
We waited to find out where our son was located and found out he was in Osaka near missionary friends.
We march forward.
We needed finances for administrative fees and forms (at several different junctures), God provided through both strangers and a community of people we love.
We march forward.
We find out we have to be in Tokyo for an extended time and hotels are astronomically priced, another friend in Japan found us a place that was a fraction of the cost.
We march forward.
There are hundreds of other things where we look and see that over and over, this is not our battle but His. We are in it. We feel it and we need the support of all the prayers and gifts that have been there, but we can’t direct it and we haven’t (and couldn’t) have predicted the amazing road we’ve been marching. Victory is closer than it has ever been before.
We keep marching forward and when we look to our left and right, when we look behind us, we see all of you who prayed a prayer, gave a gift, or supported in one of a thousand different ways. There you are, marching right there with us. We don’t take it lightly. God has done a great work and to everyone who has been a part thus far, we are eternally grateful.
We have been witness to many a miracle and even miracles within miracles. Our God is good and faithful. What He speaks comes to pass and will not fail.
To see the fruit of what you’ve been fighting for is a blessing that words cannot decribe…

I’m sort of surprised I managed much more than that myself, Scott. Thanks.
Jason, what an inspiring story and the most amazing thing about it is that this is only the beginning.
The journey is just starting, and I’m sure He has already planned everything.
I’m glad you’re sharing it with us, it is very encouraging to us.
May God continue guiding you and your family through this new adventure.
Many blessings!

I’m continually blown away by His love and mercy… Thank you, Ingrid.
May this truly be a rescue as you bring this young life into your family and home. There will be days ahead that you will need to rely heavily on the Lord for guidance “what do I do next?” Equally and carefully divide your love between each member of your family and know that God has orchestrated this march for His plan.
