God Bless America!

Today is Independence Day in the good ol’ US of A, and like many we are celebrating here with parades, games, fireworks, and family fun.

I found this video and thought you should have to suffer through it too. The Bible does say you’re supposed to weep with those who weep. :)

Now, the national anthem can be a very tricky song. I have sung it in public and it’s extremely nerve-wracking. When I did it, I shamelessly put the words in front of me in case I forgot them in the heat of the moment (but thankfully, the practice paid off and I didn’t need them). It all went fine, but I can’t say the same for these folks.

While we’re praying that God would bless America, maybe you can bow your heads and say a little prayer for these singers as well. God bless their little hearts…

Happy 4th of July!

Do you have a favorite Independence Day story or tradition to share? I’d love to hear it!

  1. Happy 4th! My only constant on this date is to pray for our country. For God’s protection from without and within, that we might confess our sins and He might heal our nation…

    • That is a great tradition to be carried out all through the year! Thanks Floyd. Happy 4th to you too.

  2. How very painful. At least they tried I suppose

    • That is definitely what should be written on their tombstones: “Hey, he/she tried.” :) Thanks Philip.

  3. My favorite thing to do on the 4th is set back relax and enjoy the day ! It’s a day when we can take time and set fire to strings and it makes beautiful colors. (which by the way is illegal in Minnesota ;))

    • It’s illegal to buy/sell them here, but almost everyone has them. Sorta bizarre, but whatever! I enjoy the relaxing too. It’s a very good thing. :) Thanks Andrew.
