One of my favorite scriptures (which has become even more real through times of hardship) is Romans 15:13,
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Life can be hard. Challenges can seem too great. Don’t put a little bandage on the outside when the turmoil is inside.
Remember He’s the God of hope. I’m praying He fills you today, not so you can have a little to attempt to scrape by. I want Him to fill you up with joy and peace as you believe and trust Him so that you will ABOUND in hope.
It’s like a hope transfusion.
According to trusty Google, people may need blood transfusions for sever infection or disease that leaves the body unable to produce blood with all its parts or when treatments leave other deficiencies.
Disappointment, disillusionment, despair–it all leaves you weak. Sometimes you’re in the process of healing and the process seems too long and difficult. May you find yourself encouraged today to allow the Great Physician, Jesus, to inject some hope right into your veins.
According to Merriam Webster Online Dictionary, transfusion means “an act, process, or instance of transfusing; especially: the process of transfusing fluid (such as blood) into a vein or artery.”
Faith is the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1). Just imagine now that hope is entering your body and coursing through your veins.
And the best part? There is no chance of getting tainted blood. He gives you His own and there is always hope and wholeness in His blood.
I have this hope in the depth of my soul
In the flood or the fire, You’re with me and You won’t let go
I believe in the value of others in this journey of life and faith, and I want to connect with other people, connect others in real ways, and connect everyone I come across to Him. I have a beautiful wife, Andrea, and four wonderful children (and we are also a foster family). I was formerly lead pastor of Breakthrough Church in Juneau, AK, but now live in Oklahoma working with Family of Faith College in developing a worship pastor degree program. I also run a website development company called Spark2Flame where I help others reach their full potential online.
