Identity Surrender

Woman is showing her open hands. On clean balck bagground. The last several months, I’ve been using different scripture reading and making confessions in my daily prayer time. I just wanted to share one of those today.

Maybe you could benefit from taking a moment to breathe these words to heaven for yourself.

Father, I thank you that I am Yours and I am loved. My identity is in You and who you’ve made me to be, and you are settling any identity issues in this year. You are strategically aligning me in relationship to heaven and earth. My faith is in the blood that stands as my righteousness. I am being perfected as a son and walking into greater anointing today.

Jesus is my Lord and Holy Spirit is my guide. Lead me into all truth today and make a path for me to glorify Jesus. Help me live and breathe Kingdom in such a way that people are drawn to You. My body is not my own, my life is not my own. I have died and my real life is hidden with Christ in God as my mind is set on things above and not things of earth.

I submit my whole self to God, I resist the devil, and he must flee. I’m not trying to change myself, but my heart is set on knowing You. In all things, give us this day our daily bread. May this day be spent in gratitude for all you’ve done and all you will do.

Give me grace to meet the needs and challenges, wisdom to interpret and understand, and love through a heart of compassion for my wife, family, and everyone I meet. May your favor and beauty rest on me to accomplish the good works you’ve given me to do today.

In Jesus’ name– amen.

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  –Colossians 3:2-3

Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. –Psalm 105:4

Does this minister to you? What would you add to it today?

Whispers and Shouts #33.

…a short burst of inspiration of what God is speaking to me, a prayer, a quote, a song, or whatever else.

  1. That was a beautiful prayer. It spoke deeply to me. Especially the part about resisting the devil. I don’t know what’s up lately with me, I just feel under such attack. If I was to add anything to your awesome words and thoughts, I would just say this:

Lord, please fight the fight that I cannot. Be for me the strength that I need, but cannot drum up. Release me from the weapon of fear…

And I truly believe the beginning of that good fight is found in the verses that you ended your post with. Seek His face, set my mind, and remember that I am hidden in Christ forever.

Thanks, Jason. This did indeed bring me great encouragement tonight.

    • Amen. I’m so thankful He fights what we do not see and/or cannot understand. He is watching over His word to complete it. Great additions, Sharon. Blessings to you too!

  2. “I’m not trying to change myself, but my heart is set on knowing You. ” this line is my favorite of the prayer. Goes along with my life verse, I Cor. 2:2, I am determined to know nothing other then Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Thanks Jason for the encouragement.

    • I’ve been on a roller coaster these past months and God is getting through to me! I woke up one morning hearing that from the Lord, “you can’t pray or do enough to change yourself.” I was busted! All I can do is set my heart on knowing Him and allow His presence to change me. And I love your life verse, one of my favorites. Thanks so much, Betty.
