Intimacy that Overcomes

The last weeks have been difficult in many ways, but in the midst of it, I feel an invitation to intimacy with God that burns inside me.

On Sunday night, I was privileged to be one of the leaders at a night of worship at our church. As I prayed for this time, the phrase that kept coming to me was, “an intimacy that overcomes.”

The obstacles you face are not coincidence. There is an enemy and he attacks viciously. Jesus, however, didn’t seem to take a screaming, kicking, and fighting approach to such things. He remained connected to the Father, connected to His words. He maintained spiritual eyes and focus on Him.

In that love relationship, He overcame every temptation He faced and even overcame the world.

To know His love–this is my desire.

This song has been a great strength to me over the last days. Listen to this song by Kari Jobe and let it grab your heart…

You’re love is like no other
Nothing else satisfies
It flows through the deepest waters
It rests on mountains high
Your love is overwhelming
Brought me to life again
Your love, it will last forever
In You, there’ll be no end

How about you? Are you feeling a drawing to His intimacy? What’s God impressing on your heart?

    • Absolutely! Thank you, Deb.

  2. I don’t have a prayer, literally, of making it without seeking intimacy with our Father. The good things about tough times is that they remind us of where our priority needs to be constantly.

    Great song!

    • Priorities can be shifted so easily, can’t they? I wish it weren’t that way, but He is faithful to redirect. Thanks Floyd.
