Living in Grace upon Grace

For several days now, I cannot escape this simple verse. It’s just exploding inside me.

For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.  –John 1:16

I encourage you to reflect on that, ponder it. I also want you to read it again in the Amplified version and while you do, just smile –let out a big ol’ grin. If you are in a place where you’re able, I think you should read it out loud.

For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift].

Your Father is good and He gave you Jesus. Not only that, but through Jesus God’s fullness is revealed and you keep receiving grace after grace after grace. How can you not be happy and excited about that?

My prayer for you as you read this (and respond) is that you receive more grace, that supernatural enabling power to be who He made you to be and accomplish all He made you to accomplish. His word and promise never returns empty-handed and His faithfulness is right there for you to grab and hold.

Keeping it short and simple for today because I’m actually privileged to be heading to Mexico today to speak at a worship conference of leaders there. I’m excited! At the same time, I need some more of that “grace upon grace.”

If you can take a minute to pray with me for this time, I would be so grateful!

  • Pray that all these leaders are touched in a deeper way by God’s presence and grace
  • That I and the other speakers will not merely teach but impart spiritual blessings and deposit lasting truth
  • That this will be a powerful moment of destiny for all of us joining together

This is the first time I’ve been out of the country to minister in quite a while so I believe this is the beginning of great things God wants to do. Thank you so much for your prayers and standing with me!

Since I’ll be incredibly busy for the week I’m gone, I’m only posting once this week and I’ll post again when I get back next week.

I appreciate you more than I can say and I do sincerely pray that you are met with an abundance of His grace in this week. Receive more of that fullness!

What do you think? Will you pray with me? Did you experience anything by smiling and reading those words (as I do each time I do it)?

  3. I translated the verse before I read the other version, “Unmerited favor upon unmerited favor”.

Praying for you, Jason. May God guide, guard, and direct you.
