Answer me quickly, Lord;
my spirit fails.
Do not hide your face from me
or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life. –Psalm 143:7-8 (NIV)
There are dark times. There are difficult seasons. There are trying situations. You cry out to God for an answer and like the psalmist, want a word of His love in the morning.
I’ve been meditating on a song recently and here are some of the lyrics,
I need nothing, I need nothing / But Your love
Your love is a strong and mighty tower / Your love is a quiet voice
Your love is the dawn approaching a new day, the beautiful morning
“Beautiful Morning” by Andy Cherry
To make a declaration that I need nothing or am nothing without His love–I feel like I don’t honestly know that level of desire for Him, but I want to know it. At the same time, I’m blown away that the same love I seek to hear in the morning is itself bringing that morning.
Every single day is another opportunity to experience that magnificent love. Night is dark until the fulfillment of all things when we no longer need a lamp or light, but He is the everlasting light. And still, that dark has to give way to that beautiful morning.
The night of death where Jesus looked defeated was overcome by the beautiful morning of His infinite love. I pray He meets you with that conviction and unshakeable truth today, and I encourage you to embrace it.
What are your thoughts? What metaphor or analogy do you like concerning His love?

…a short burst of inspiration of what God is speaking to me, a prayer, a quote, a song, or whatever else.
I believe in the value of others in this journey of life and faith, and I want to connect with other people, connect others in real ways, and connect everyone I come across to Him. I have a beautiful wife, Andrea, and four wonderful children (and we are also a foster family). I was formerly lead pastor of Breakthrough Church in Juneau, AK, but now live in Oklahoma working with Family of Faith College in developing a worship pastor degree program. I also run a website development company called Spark2Flame where I help others reach their full potential online.
