Not without Purpose

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Welcome to my sanctuary this week. Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Isaiah 48:12-13 (VOICE)

Listen to Me, O Jacob, Israel whom I’ve specially named,
specially chosen, and not without purpose.
I Am the first of all things, and I will be the last.
It is by My power, My desire, My doing that the earth was anchored.
My hand flung the skies. I established them,
And when I call, they pay the strictest attention.

It’s Your earth and they’re Your skies.
It’s Your power and Your desire.
How can I doubt my purpose or Your holy word?

A life without a purpose is a languid, drifting thing. Every day we ought to renew our purpose, saying to ourselves: This day let us make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is nought.

–Thomas á Kempis

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. “…a languid a drifting thing.” ~ an unfamiliar quote, poignant new words to ponder. Thank you for sharing.

    • I appreciate your stopping by, Lisa!

  2. Reality strikes again! I loved the photo and your words and the Words. Made me smiling and rejoicing. Thank you so much, Jason! Blessings. 😉

    • Thank you, Joanne! Blessings to you, my friend.

  3. Thanks for this meditation on the glory in the skies that God has created and the glorious words from Isaiah, Jason! I’m especially struck by God’s awesome power in the words “I Am the first of all things, and I will be the last.”
