Sanctuary: Be My Leader

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Psalms 31:2-3 (VOICE)

Hear me, Lord! Turn Your ear in my direction.
Come quick! Save me!
Be my rock, my shelter,
my fortress of salvation!
You are my rock and my fortress—my soul’s sanctuary!
Therefore, for the sake of Your reputation, be my leader, my guide, my navigator, my commander.

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. May we always find refuge in Him, our Sanctuary! Thanks for the beautiful post. Linked up with you at Still Saturday.
    God bless,

    • Thank you, Laurie. 🙂 God bless you too!

  2. I want to walk this bridge. With his refuge and protection I know I’ll make it to the other side. I feel safe in the beauty of this picture. Always a pleasure to see you I the linkup. You’re the #GiveMeGrace Wordsmith of the Week!

    • This is actually a dock at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. My wife and I recently had a short getaway there and it was gorgeous. Much needed rest and I feel it’s reflected in that picture nicely. 🙂 Thanks so much for honoring me, Lisha! Hope you have a wonderful, blessed week.

  3. The photo’s nice as usual, of course, but the Word is very much involved and planted in me, years and years ago. Actually, when something serious was occurring to me in Oklahoma. I can never forget that. Laid on me strongly nearly 31 years ago. Thank you for sharing. As usual, I’m very happy to “see” you again. 😉

    • When the word is planted, it bears much fruit. Thankful for the fruit it’s born in your life, Joanne. 🙂 Thanks so much.

  4. Love the emphasis on Scripture. I’m your diagonal neighbor at Sandra HK’s link up this weekend!

    • That’s great, Michelle, and thank you. Nice to “meet” you. 🙂

  5. Hi Jason,
Thanks for linking to Sunday Stillness. I like the “turn your ear in my direction”. But really I think the person needs to align himself to God. God is ready, willing and able to be there with us -- but we have to be there with Him, too.

    • Thanks Janis! Blessings to you. 🙂

  6. A tough time in my life right now. Lots of turmoil. The Scripture that I am meditating on -- FOCUSING on? Lamentations 3. I love how honest Jeremiah was about his feelings, even honest feelings about God. And yet, he still affirms his faith in a good and loving God who cares.

This is where my faith is right now. Though I struggle with many feelings, and I am crying out to the Lord -- He still remains my Rock. And in His strength, I will stand.

    • Amen. Been there so many times, Sharon. So thankful He’s not afraid of our feelings or emotions, but constantly reaffirms His love and grace toward us. Thanks so much.
