Sanctuary: Ease Me Down

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Psalm 25:4-5 (VOICE)

DEMONSTRATE Your ways, O Eternal One.
Teach me to understand so I can follow.
EASE me down the path of Your truth.
FEED me Your word
because You are the True God who has saved me.
I wait all day long, hoping, trusting in You.

This is the path to glory.
This is the path to truth.
I won’t stray because You, Lord, are life.

“God does not give us everything we want, but He does fulfill His promises…leading us along the best and straightest paths to Himself.”

–Dietrich Bonhoeffer

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. As I’ve said often, your photo and your Word choices are filled with reality. I’m a strong “path” person and trust the Lord to enter me right then… and protect me, fill me with rejoicefulness, and worhipfulness. Can’t NOT. I’m a path addict. Bless you and thank you, Jason. 😉

    • Ha! A path addict--never heard that one before. 🙂 I think I’m with you though! Thanks so much, Joanne.

      • 😉 You made me smile. Would love to see you and could tell you a lot of this sort of thing.

  2. “…to Himself.” Yes, I want to walk that narrow path toward and to Him and Him alone.
    Encouraging for me tonight.

    • Thank you, Linda. You’re encouraged which means I’m encouraged. 🙂

  3. Wow! That passage in the Voice and then that Bonhoeffer quote, so powerful!

    • It amazes me the power of words and when they’re just what I need to hear… Thanks Elizabeth!

  4. God does not give us everything we want, but He does fulfill His promises…leading us along the best and straightest paths to Himself. You’ve introduced me to my new favorite quote. Such truth. Thanks Jason!

    • Awesome! Thank you so much, Lisha. 🙂

  5. Love the Bonhoeffer quote. So grateful to have stopped here this morning from Give Me Grace. Have a blessed Sunday!

    • Hope you had a blessed Sunday too! Thank you, Joanne.

  6. I read Psalm 25:4-5 as if for the first time! There was something about the picture you chose that coincided with the verse that really spoke to my heart.

I was especially struck by the words, “teach me to understand so that I can follow…”

I have been spurred on to pray those words every morning. How obedient will my walk be, if I earnestly seek Him so that I may follow Him throughout the day.

    Thanks for sharing!

    • I appreciate that, Karen! Those are some powerful words. Blessings to you! Thank you. 🙂
