Sanctuary: Evening Offering

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Psalm 141:1-2 (NASB)

O Lord, I call upon You; hasten to me!
Give ear to my voice when I call to You!
May my prayer be counted as incense before You;
The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. Thank you for the reminder to call upon God. We know that He will always be with us and will answer when we call. The answer may not be what we like but He does answer in a way that is best for us and for this we can be thankful.

    • He is faithful to lead us to the best and the fulfillment of His plans. It’s always to our benefit though it can seem hard in the interim! Thanks so much, Gayl.

  2. The message at church today was from the Psalms. So much emotion and life experience is expressed in the Psalms. . . and a call to repentance and prayer. Have a blessed weekend!

    • I love the Psalms. There’s raw honesty, emotion, and worship. What a reminder of how He’s created us to express our hearts to Him. Thank you, Carol! Hope you’ve had a blessed weekend too!

  3. Strange how I can’t recall a place of sanctuary this week. That’s not good. I must intentionally find one for just me to be in His shelter. Blessings, Linda

    • All I know is, I have nothing without Him! He gives rest and life and peace and hope. Thanks Linda. Blessings to you too.

  4. Yes, Jason, I’m definitely a hand lifter-upper. Sometimes in church, sometimes walking around and about the streets. Praying and rejoicing and lifting them up. And, I LOOK up, often, so I can lift up at the clouds and the trees and the other opportunities for blessings to Him. Thanks for sharing so clearly and accurately… as usual. Ya do good. Always.

    • Seems so natural to raise my hands. Like a child asking a parent to pick him up! He certainly does bless us so richly--provision, relationships, nature, and everything else. How could we not be grateful? Believe me, sometimes I still manage, but in moments like this, seeing His perspective--it just doesn’t make sense. 🙂 Thank you, Joanne.
