Sanctuary: He Is Knocking

Sanctuary–

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Revelation 3:20-21 (NASB)

Behold, I stand at the door andknock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. Sanctuary. That word used to sound like punishment
when I was young and churched harsh and rigid.
    I thought it meant “tomb”
    Now it’s sweet and freeing,
that Person I’ve come to know
    as Sanctuary
    and He makes everything new:)
    thanks for the awesome reminder,
    Jennifer

    • Amazing that He is our Sanctuary and He comes to abide in us as His. What a wonderful thing! Thanks so much, Jennifer.

  2. There seems to be a sacred echo among our weekend posts of being still enough to hear Him. Love your photo. Thanks for visiting over at my place.

    • It was my pleasure, Shelly. Thank you! It amazing when we are stirred by those similar themes--like God orchestrated it or something. :)

  3. Stopping by for a visit from Jumping Tandem today!
I’m been working on prayer, mediation and breathing, as part of my pain management for several months. It’s amazing how much more refreshed I feel after each session.
I know that the Heavenly Father is at work.
You always seem to select such powerful verses.
    Have a blessed week!

    • Amen! Thanks so much, Rona.

  4. Well, Jason, you made me laugh. I had wanted to use that scripture and had been looking all over trying to find a good photo I could use — was thinking of one of the doors I had photoed in Morocco — but it didn’t seem to work just right. SO, I found the other verse that was dropped in life for the post. And was more than content. GLAD it wasn’t both of us! Blessings.

    • Ha! That’s too funny, Joanne. I just love pictures of cool doors. I took that last week while I was helping in someone’s house! I would love to see the Moroccan doors though. Sounds fantastic! Thanks Joanne.

  5. When I was a first ‘new’ Christian as a teen that verse scared me, not sure why, now that I am older it is more ‘understanding’ and wisdom that gives me the meaning.

    • It’s funny how we have those verses that scare us (I’ve had plenty myself for various reasons), but the more we know Him, the more His love overwhelms and drives out our fears. A great exchange for sure! Thanks Sharon.
