Sanctuary: in the Fertile Field, Peace

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Isaiah 32:16-17 (NLT)

Justice will rule in the wilderness
and righteousness in the fertile field.
And this righteousness will bring peace.
Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. What a great faith nugget to camp on this evening. One of my favorite views to capture in my minds eye and as I travel by the fields near our home is the abundance of the harvest as it is rolled in the bales sitting in the field. There is always such a reward to see what the provision available when we take the time to gather it.

    • Great thought, Dawn. May we take the time to gather what He has provided! Amen. Thank you.

  2. LOVE this. Love hay bales in the field--and this, the softness of peace hovering over the harvest. Big sigh… Thanks, Jason.

    • 🙂 Thanks so much, Sandra.

  3. You just made me laugh and smile and rejoice. I immediately saw “buffaloes” on your photo. Can’t NOT add my “Buffalo” blog post to you. You will laugh, rejoice, and snicker.. and know me and my husband even better. AND sure want to meet you. And it’s a little too long, but not too boring. So, here it is:

Bless you for grabbing me to laugh and rejoice, Jason. 😉

    • That’s awesome! I look forward to reading it, Joanne. Love a Spirit-inspired response. 🙂 Thanks so much!

  4. Beautiful photo, and beautiful verse.

    I am reflecting on this:

“‘I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.'” (John 16:33, NLT)

I like that Jesus acknowledges that life in the *here and now* is going to be difficult. He doesn’t pull any punches about the truth -- that the Christian life is hard. But, I also love that He follows this truth with His Truth.

When I hear Him say “I have overcome the world” I get goosebumps!! Did He whisper it, did He shout it?! Did He say it with a smile on His face?! To me it’s a banner to stake my life upon!

HE HAS OVERCOME! And through His victory, we are all more than conquerors!
