Sanctuary: Rebuild, Restore

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Isaiah 58:11-12 (NASB)

“And the Lord will continually guide you,
And satisfy your desire in scorched places,
And give strength to your bones;
And you will be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.
“Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins;
You will raise up the age-old foundations;
And you will be called the repairer of the breach,
The restorer of the streets in which to dwell.

Reminder: The Warrior Poet Circle returns Monday morning and we’re writing honest poetry from our spiritual passion so I hope you’ll come, share your heart, and maybe express yourself in a little different way. If you have a poem to contribute, come and share it with everyone. If not, read what others have written and I know you’ll enjoy it. The link widget will be here on Monday morning. See you then!

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

    • Thanks so much, Danise!

  2. That’s a powerful photo pairing with that scripture. Where/what is that?

    I’ve been thinking a lot this week about how the Word influences our art. 🙂

    • That is part of an abandoned gold mine on a beach about 1-15 minutes from our house. It’s very cool to go exploring around there! And yeah, I took it just the other night and my first thought was this scripture. God gives us pictures and speaks in all sorts of ways. It’s incredible! Thank you, Sandra.

  3. This gal is visiting from Jumping Tandem today.
    I love Sundays! Thank you for your wonderful words.
    I attended the online Saddleback Church service today to hear Nick Vujicic. His words truly touched my heart. I can not believe how emotional I still am.
    “If I fail, I try again,again,and again.. If you fail, are you going to try again? If you can’t get miracle, become one”. Nick Vujicic

    • That’s a good word! Much to meditate on there. I’ve never heard of Nick, but I’ll have to look him up. Thanks so much, Rona.

  4. He gives strength to your bones, oh sometimes I just want to claim that so much as my ‘strength is tested’. Thank you for the wonderful reminder.

    • I know a little about strength being tested. He is good and well able to lead and supply… Thanks Sharon.

  5. And, yes, after feeling like a scorchy breach for many years, the blessing is that I now often feel like a watered garden… giving lovely flowers to others. I mentioned to a couple others that it’s amazing how many of us are buried in Isaiah right now. A good place to hang out.

    • Absolutely! I love Isaiah--such redemption and hope. Thanks so much, Joanne. Praying for you!
