Sanctuary: Still Waters

Sanctuary–

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Psalm 23:1-2 (NASB)

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.

Reminder: The Warrior Poet Circle returns tomorrow and we’re writing honest poetry from our spiritual passion so I hope you’ll come, share your heart, and maybe express yourself in a little different way. If you have a poem to contribute, come and share it with everyone. If not, read what others have written and I know you’ll enjoy it. The link widget will be here Monday morning. See you then!

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. I love the name of your post today ! We had a great time today at church as well. After church my dad wanted to do something so we took off. We wanted some ice cream and malts (not dairy queen) so we ended up in a rivertown that borders Wisconsin & Minnesota called Stillwater. I love that town it’s so peaceful we walked by the river and just enjoyed it. I love the waters, here in Minnesota God knew what he was doing when creating it !

  3. Just thought of this and should give you a laugh. When Dave and I were at Tettegouche State Park in Minnesota --the first time for me — and walked down to the beach that was/is COVERED with rocks … from which I now have many at my Omaha yard and inside my house in vases … after seeing next to no rocks in our area … my comment to Dave was, “How do the trucks get down here to unload and dump these rocks on the beach and out in the Lake [Superior]? IMMEDIATELY, I couldn’t believe something that stupid had shot out of my mouth. It’s one of my favorite places to go as often as we can…usually every year or two. Love it!

    • That is funny! Reminds me of some of the interesting comments we get from tourists here in Juneau. One of my favorites: what elevation are we? And this comes from people who just stepped off a cruise ship (at sea level, of course). We all have those moments though! Thanks Joanne.

  4. So peaceful, Jason. God bless you, brother.

    • Thank you, Jennifer. :) Same blessings to you!
