Sanctuary: The Land Shouts

Sanctuary–

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Welcome to my sanctuary this week. Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

land-shouts

PsalmΒ 65:11-13 (VOICE)

You crown the year with a fruitful harvest;
the paths are worn down by carts overflowing with unstoppable growth.
Barren desert pastures yield fruit;
craggy hills are now dressed for celebration.
Meadows are clothed with frolicking flocks of lambs;
valleys are covered with a carpet of autumn-harvest grain;
the land shouts and sings in joyous celebration.

The land celebrates Your generosity and abundance.
Deserts yield fruit when You are near.
Whatever I see, I will shout Your goodness and grace.

The world is full of abundance and opportunity, but far too many people come to the fountain of life with a sieve instead of a tank car; a teaspoon instead of a steam shovel. They expect little and as a result they get little.

–Ben Sweetland

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. Beautiful verses about gathering bountiful crops. Farmers in our part of the Midwest are continuing to harvest corn. The bins at the local elevators are full, and so they are unloading corn into gigantic piles outside. That’s the kind of abundance God gives--overflowing.
