Sanctuary: the Sun Prepared

1 : a place (as a church or a temple) for worship

2 : a place of refuge and protection

Meditating on the beauty He’s created and the power of His words…

Psalm 74:16-17 (NASB)

Yours is the day, Yours also is the night;
You have prepared the light and the sun.
You have established all the boundaries of the earth;
You have made summer and winter.

What’s your sanctuary this week? What thought, verse, etc. are you meditating on?

  1. Thanks for linking to Sunday Stillness. Remembering those words, “Yours is the day”. Love it.

    • My pleasure! Thank you, Janis. 🙂

  2. Yes. What a great verse to be reminded up. Thank you.

    • It really speaks to me in these last days. Thanks Kristi.

  3. Yours is the day, Yours also is the night…

    What a beautiful phrase. Those few words alone hold plenty to meditate on.

    Very beautiful and very comforting.

    Thank you.

    • I’m very captivated by this verse at the moment. The line you mentioned and also that He’s prepared the light and the sun. Very comforting! Thank you, Cassandra.

  4. Loved that photo and the verse! There is something thrilling about all the things that the Lord has *established* -- not the least of which is our future with Him in eternity!

    This week I posted about a scene with Moses -- the one in which he needs help holding up his arms by Aaron and Hur as Joshua fights the battle against the Amalekites. I have been reminded that it’s all about community, sharing our battles and triumphs with each other as we walk out our lives serving God.

    I am meditating on the gift of the Body of Christ -- in all its varied and talented and wondrous members.

    • Amen. That’s a great expression of community! And it reveals there’s a supernatural component to it. His arms stayed up with the help of the two men and the battle was won. Holding up our leaders not only honors them but blesses us. Thank you, Sharon!

  5. YEP! In spite of everything in our world and everything we do, He is in charge. Morning and Night. That’s all I can count on forever and ever. You shared beautifully — Word and photo — as usual. Thanks much, Jason.

    • I’m so glad He’s got it all! You are so kind and encouraging, Joanne. I appreciate it! 🙂
