Searching for Birthday Wisdom

Today, I turn the ripe old age of 34. I know, some of you have cheese in the back of your fridge older than that, but it still feels like a milestone.

I wish I had some witty reflection to give you. Maybe I could relay a spiritual insight of some sort. Perhaps I could just be funny and entertaining…

Alas, I don’t feel deep wells flowing in that sense. Instead, I’m struck again with the simplicity that makes life so rich.

I love my God and He continually blows me away with His love.

I have a wife who is amazing, the perfect compliment to my strengths and weaknesses. The bond of love we share is a daily choice I make intentionally and gratefully.

My kids and family teach me so much–supporting, grounding, and carrying me. I watch miracles happen in their hearts and lives and I am thankful.

I could go on to mention the church I pastor, work I do, blog community I get to engage in, and more, but really all I want to say is…

I am blessed and I am thankful. Happy birthday to me.

I just have you by a few years, but 40 is rapidly approaching.
