Eyes open reluctantly
The feeling is different
Is it blankness or a blanket?
I remember the trouble, the colors of rage
Surrounded, no cavalry in tow
Then this–this awkward emancipation,
Difficult–at least at first
Daring and curious, I take some more in
The sights, the sounds, the moment
Shift and rush into an eternal embrace
Didn’t know God had wings but now I do
Because I’m in the shelter
Standing in a shadow, never cold or sinister
In warmth to outshine tropical beaches
In peace to outdo rolling country hills
In strength to exceed the world’s full military might
“Hidden” is His promise, a fortune I will cherish
Welcome to the 5th edition of the Warrior Poet Circle (if you need a refresher on what this is, click here). Time to pull up a seat, gather around the fire, and pour out our verses.
This time our theme is Hidden in God. I very much enjoyed this. I hope you will too and be sure to check out the others who have joined in as well. It’s always very encouraging.
Also I’d love if you would go and check out my guest post at Make a Difference to One where I’m privileged to write about God is…Wisdom. Go check it out!
If you have a contribution today, add it below. Can’t wait to read what you’ve written.
For next time (Monday, March 14), we’ll use the prompt, Lonely. Obviously, that could go a lot of directions so I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

So thankful for His shelter in the midst of uncertainty, weariness, and sorrow. He is sufficient.

Hidden In God
Devastated and despressed beyond tears
Swallowed up and buried in fears
I run to Him
What if, oh God, when will?
Trying my best to be still
I run to Him
Not knowing what the future holds
Wondering how much more
I run to Him
Somehow in all my uncertainties
I know in Him I can trust
I run to Him
For He is my all
There is no other
I run and hide in Him
Awesome! Thank you for sharing, Sherry.
