Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Warrior Poet Circle (if you need a refresher on what this is, click here). Time to pull up a seat, gather around the fire, and pour out our verses.
This time our theme is Mystery of God and a very special guest has written the entry for today: my wife, Andrea. Did I mention were a family of warrior poets? And I couldn’t be happier about it!
If you have a contribution, add it below. Â Can’t wait to read your entries!
For next time (Valentine’s Day, February 14), we’ll use the word, Heartstrings, as our inspiration.
Trusting a Mystery
I feel something, but eyes can’t see.
I hear something, but there is no one around me.
What is this? I know this is for real,
But how do I describe something that I feel?
There is comfort in the truth of what I know;
I pursue what I know is so.
I know I have a God who is for me.
Who can unveil this mystery?
People try to justify with books
When a moment in His presence is what it took.
I can’t debate, I’m no good at that;
I know He’s God and I simply accept it as fact.
What doctors say can’t be done
Has already been paid for by the Son.
Tell me I’m crazy to keep holding on,
But nothing you say will stop this song.
I venture deeper into His presence.
I press further to find His essence.
How do I use words to describe
My God I know who dwells inside?

It is a song we carry in our hearts, a trust we bear in our soul. Good one, Jason.

My wife wrote this one! She’s pretty amazing.
Thank you Glynn.
Absolutely loved this expression of feeling and acceptance of the Mystery of God.
Thanks Dusty--I appreciate it.
I love this poem. What is fascinating about it is how it reflects perfectly some things I was thinking about yesterday after reading some blogs from some of my atheist friends. Beautiful and well done.
Awesome. Thank you!
The last four lines are powerful. Wow!
Awesome poem, Andrea!

Thanks Ryan!
Whoops! I didn’t realize I was signed into Jason’s account!

Well, I would have her post a lot more if she weren’t so dang busy.
Thanks Melissa.
I have like 3 posts started. Something about 153 high schoolers wanting to know their math grades- keeps a teacher spinning! Thanks for the comment (and sorry for the late reply).
i don’t know why i have not come across this poem but am glad it crossed my path and i must say it is very beautiful indeed; every line with its right words just makes me want to know Him more and trust Him daily as He unveils this mystery of His Supreme Being.
thanks for sharing
