I moved the Look Back to Saturday this week since it’s a holiday weekend. Independence Day is a big deal in Juneau so we’re having our service this morning followed by a giant barbecue. Going to be so much fun!

For now, here’s another look at this week in Impact. With each link is a brief synopsis and one great comment (among the many) so you can sample the discussion. Be sure to tell me if one of these posts was your favorite and why in the comments!
- Monday. What I Deserve
This post is not about a low self-esteem. It’s about me remembering that I can never earn the gift of life and grace that Jesus paid for me to have. I still deserve death, but I receive His free gift.
One Great Comment: I think it’s especially hard in our society to NOT think we can earn our way into heaven. Living a “good” life, making “good” choices and helping mankind (modern philanthropy) are not the path to God. While it is important to do these things, it’s all for not if the love of God is absent. Love this: “I cannot weaken Your promise with my failures just like I can’t strengthen the promise with my obedience.” Something we need to repeat to ourselves daily. Totally worth meditating on regularly. Thanks, Jason! –Ginny (mad21)
- Tuesday. God Makes Great Sequels
This post is part of the blog carnival on Strength over at Bridget Chumbley’s place. I wrote about how we sometimes go back to our places of personal or public defeat, but if Jesus is leading we will go in His strength.
One Great Comment: Jason, some weeks back, I was weary. Not whiny (been there), just really, really weary. (Will you think less of me if I confess I felt downright hopeless?) Then the Lord whispered, it’s not over yet. More weeks have gone by. Things have gone from worse to whatever’s way past worse. I so appreciate this post.—Anne Lang Bundy
- Wednesday. Is Change Really Possible?
Our book discussion of The Christian Atheist continues looking this week at the possibility and responsibility of change. Another great discussion that blows me away. Thanks to everyone who is participating! It is amazing.
One Great Comment: I think pride comes into play in both situations. When young you don’t think you need to change and when you get older it is hard to see the need to change. And yes I have struggled with both. –Bill (Cycleguy)
- Thursday. Moving Day & Other Excitement
Last week I shared that I was moving the blog to a new address and it has happened! Making preparations and moving forward can be daunting, but it’s worth it. Also be sure to check out the guest post I wrote for Michael Perkin’s blog, God Wants Sons Not Just Servants.
One Great Comment: I feel like I should bring you a potted plant or some other kind of housewarming gift. I guess the thought will have to do. Happy Birthday Alicia!!! –Wendy
- Friday. Light Friday Hit List
A weekly roundup of my favorites posts from across the blogosphere. Check out the great blogs and bloggers represented and have a little fun along the way!
One Great Comment: Ooo! Dave Barry! Love him. And dang…that baby is awfully young to be sporting that face! –Katdish
There’s still time, go and be part of the conversation or revisit what others said. Did you have a favorite post here this week? Why did you respond to it so much?
