Weekend Look Back

July 31, 2010 5:21 am discussion, impact

Here’s the deal. I try to do these posts every week to give another look at the conversation we’ve shared this week on Impact. With each link is a brief synopsis and one great comment (among the many) so you can sample the discussion. Be sure to tell me if one of these posts was your favorite and why in the comments!

What does it mean to be blessed while living in obedience to our God? We explore the topic here and why obedience is really the best way.

One Great Comment: Reading Plan B by Pete Wilson right now. One of the questions he asks is how we might live differently if we put our faith in who God is as opposed to what God does. It’s a challenge for sure–to look beyond our own circumstances and choose to live for his glory, not our own. –Katdish

This post was written to participate in Bridget Chumbley’s ‘One Word at a Time’ blog carnival (this time on “Ego”). I took a slightly humorous view on caring for our ego as we would our pet. Seemed to get a great reaction. I’m always grateful for the comments and encouragement.

One Great Comment: Next time I meet a new person, I’m going to glance behind me at my ego and say “DOWN GIRL!”. Thanks for the advice and helping me to socialize properly. —Helen

Our book discussion of The Christian Atheist continues as we cover “when you believe in God, but don’t share our faith.” I was challenged and convicted here and I share that here and open the discussion to everyone else.

One Great Comment: I think the biggest struggle I have as a church leader is keeping the body focused on souls. With our character we must be imbibed with the Holy Spirit. With our lifestyles we must shine his love and grace. With our passions we must echo his. With our mouths we must sing (and speak) his praises. I like how Ryan uses the idea of a peculiar parade. Great post. –Herb Halstead

I jumped back into Duane Scott’s Pleasantly Disturbed Thursdays.  With tongue firmly in cheek, I journey back to when I was the coolest kid in school and going to my first big concert. I also want to hear from you about your first concert (and you can read what others wrote too).

One Great Comment: I really liked this posting! I thought your post was so funny, but reading the comments made me crack up even more! Very nice to read this and have a bright moment in my day! –Melissa

A weekly roundup of my favorites posts from across the blogosphere. Check out the great blogs and bloggers represented and have a little fun along the way!

One Great Comment: Wow. Thanks for sharing my sister’s post. She didn’t get many comments on the blog but a few people told me it was really good. This will be a great encouragement to her. –PeterP

There’s still time, go and be part of the conversation or revisit what others said. Did you have a favorite post here this week? Why did you respond to it so much?
